At the mention of eyelid surgery, most people only think of a procedure for those desiring double eyelids. Well, double eyelids are just one enhancement of this treatment. Of course, it is true that South Korea is ranked number one in the world for its eyelid surgery; however, most of my patients, before and after eyelid surgery, still have typical questions for me. I wish to answer these frequent questions, which often revolve around these three scenarios:
I WANT TO DO REVISION SURGERY
Some of my patients come after their first surgery done by a different plastic surgeon. They complain about their bad results after surgery and ask me how to fix the problem. I give them my solutions regarding revision surgery. Usually, revision eyelid surgery is more complicated than the initial surgery. This is because some patients might still have some scars after primary surgery around their eyes. With this scar tissue, it is not easy to do revision. However, this is better than leaving it as it is, because it will keep giving more and more stress to patients.

I WANT TO REMOVE ALL SCARS AROUND MY EYES
Similarly for the removal of scar tissue, I totally relate to my patients when they worry about scars after surgery. When the results that turn out are really unnatural, with many scars around eyes, most of my patients hate to look in the mirror. I don't want my patients to have to live through this. After revision surgery, scars may shrink and become less noticeable over time. 

I WANT TO REMOVE ALL WRINKLES AROUND MY EYES
As skin loses its elasticity with age, one's eyelids may become droopy, producing a sleepy or tired face. The these patients who want to remove wrinkles around the eye area, I recommend having one of the different types of anti-aging procedures, such as upper eyelid lift, upper blepharoplasty, or lower eyelid lift, lower blepharoplasty. If patients desire non-surgical procedures, there are other options like fillers or botox. The best I would recommend is our stem cell injection. In her column, she introduced Dr. Kim Byung Gun first, who has operated her nose surgery from BK Plastic Surgery Hospital. During the interview, Winnie asked Dr. Kim about the best symmetric facial type and how to define the trendiest symmetrical look.

For those questions, Dr. Kim said individual face could be divided by three parts: upper-midfacial-lower face. Normally ideal face was defined as having an equal ratio among all three parts; however, today people prefer to have a baby face which is recommended to have a little longer upper facial height.

Besides talking about the ratio, Dr. Kim also said, although patients bring some pictures of celebrities very often and want to have similar look after surgery, Dr. Kim strongly advises plastic surgery must be followed by an individual case and therefore precise consultation must be completed.


Winnie strongly agreed with Dr. Kim’s above answer. Winnie also added that people should be careful because unnecessary surgery or treatments could bring his or her unnatural result.

Dr. Kim Byung Gun, one of the top plastic surgeons in Korea, explained why Koreans are very attracted to aesthetic surgeries.

Huda, a speaker of this program also had a consultation with Dr. Kim about what she would like to achieve if she undergoes plastic surgery.



In addition, Huda also had a chance to meet Michelle, one of Dr. Kim's patients. 



Dr. Kim explains what kind of surgeries Michelle underwent and why she had such surgeries.



He also showed Huda Michelle's before-and-after surgery pictures to explain how she looks different.



After having consultation with Dr. Kim, Huda had a consultation with Nancy, English speaking cosmetic consultant. She explained the procedure of mandible angle reduction which Huda was interested in. 




Moreover, Nancy showed Huda before-and-after pictures done by computer program to give Huda more clear ideas how she would look different if she undergoes the surgery.




Huda was quite impressived with this 2D program since it helps clients to have a better understanding and to make a right decision.



Afterwards, Huda mentioned that "I have learnt a lot on what is considered beauty in Korea. It is no wonder what their aesthetic surgery industry is vibrant and has expanded attracting many tourists here."
